Melbourne is known for its four seasons and today was no different. Though the wet conditions made it things tricky, David and Anton still managed to put our cars up the top.
Anton was first to the top of the timesheets in the main drivers only practice, though was soon bumped off his perch by teammate David, setting down a new lap record of 1:07.7779.
Practice 1 – 8th– 1:08.4426 (co-driver Luke Youlden)
Practice 2 –1st – 1:07.7779
Practice 3 – 14th – 1:08.2680 (co-driver Luke Youlden)
“Today was very dependent on the weather but surprisingly we got a bit of dry running. My car was very good in my dry session, and a lot faster than what everyone else had. Though it was dry, the track still wasn’t the best so we will see much faster lap times once the track cleans out.
“I am really happy with our start; Luke did a great job in his two sessions. He had some struggles on different sets of tyres but his pace was good. We have rolled out with a strong car, now it’s just a matter of fine tuning it for the conditions tomorrow to make sure we stay there.”
Anton De Pasquale
Practice 1 – 14th– 1:08.5662 (co-driver Will Brown)
Practice 2 – 2nd– 1:07.8911
Practice 3 – 7th– 1:08.0297 (co-driver Will Brown)
“To be 1-2 in the main driver’s session is obviously a very good start to our weekend. We rolled out of the truck in a decent window, so tuned it up and we were lucky with how the weather rolled around to get some dry running.
“Will is always close to the money so that gives us confidence we can be in a good position by the end of tomorrow when it counts. If we had a whole day of dry running, we would be faster again, but it’s a good indication of where we are at though still only day one.”
